There are currently a total of 109 mountains on earth with elevations greater than 7,200 metres above sea level. Most are located on the Indian subcontinent and Tibet, while other are in Cenral Asia. As is well know, the highest mountain on earth is Mount Everest with an official height of 8,848 metres.
